Originally from the south, Charles arrived in Kansas City and received his MBA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. His resume boasts a variety of experiences, including business and, of course, accounting. Charles loves meeting with clients and coming alongside them to build a sound business. And when he’s not serving as your trusted business adviser, he’s watching sports – the Chiefs, the Royals and the Missouri Tigers – and spending time with his wife and children.
Penny is primarily responsible for working with clients to prepare accurate tax returns. Penny uses her savvy ability to reduce client’s tax liability to the lowest amount possible, within the confines of the tax code. She is regarded as a generalist with regards to tax subjects. Within the firm, she prepares most of the small business returns. Penny loves the ever-changing nature of taxes — each year brings new challenges as tax law changes frequently. Penny loves to sort through the maze of tax law to find the best options for their clients. When not working, she enjoys gardening, gaming, reading, relaxing with friends, and making fused glass art pieces.
While Robin handles an array of tasks, she is primarily responsible for payroll and accounting. Her main specialty is problem solving and understanding the “big picture.” She loves working with numbers and working out problems like puzzles. In her spare time, you can find Robin hiking, camping, fishing, boating or anything else outdoors.
Tom handles a number of tasks but is primarily responsible for overseeing accountant transactions. Here, he is regarded as a specialist in understanding the direction of the financial needs for an operation. What Tom loves about his career is the constant stream of work. Off the clock, you can find him hitting the links on a golf course or soaking up the sun on his boat.
Susan handles a variety of tasks but is primarily responsible for preparing federal and state returns for individuals, partnerships and corporations. She is regarded as a specialist in individual tax return preparation for families. Susan loves helping people understand their individual tax and financial situations, putting them in better control of their future. Off the clock, Susan likes to spend her leisure time tending to her garden, trying new restaurants and spending time with her grandchildren.
Out of many things she does for the office, Jane is primarily responsible for preparing accurate tax returns. Jane’s specialty is working with Federal and State tax returns and Missouri property tax returns. She enjoys the process of preparing taxes along with the teamwork and camaraderie of the office personnel. When Jane is away from the office she enjoys reading and watching mysteries and on the weekends she enjoys playing card games with her friends.
My background includes being a financial advisor and a freight broker. Working with people and numbers has been the backbone of my career. I love to solve problems and do my best to work outside of the box to find the best solution for our clients. I have a love and passion for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, golf, ball games and picnics with my family. I love to travel and see new things and experience new people and places.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Melissa received her Accounting Degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She enjoys wearing many different hats in the accounting world, including tax, payroll, and bookkeeping. Working with numbers and solving different problems every day are what keeps her job intriguing. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching the Chiefs. If all that doesn’t keep her busy enough, she also enjoys planning weddings and even manages a wedding venue on the side!
